As the first year of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, 2026 witnesses continuous implementation of ultra-high-definition industrial policies. The global LED display market reaches USD 8.105 billion, with China accounting for over 65% of global production capacity. The industry sees obvious structural differentiation: conventional small-pitch products face profit pressure, while ultra-fine pitch displays of 0.6–0.99 mm and outdoor cultural tourism large screens achieve substantial shipment growth. Competition has shifted from vicious price wars to technological and solution-oriented rivalry, with COB, MIP and glass-based Micro LED emerging as core development tracks.
The industrial chain boasts frequent capacity expansion and financing activities. In June, 27 industrial projects covering the full Mini/Micro LED chain broke ground, with total investment exceeding RMB 115.1 billion. In early July, Chenxian Optoelectronics secured a hundreds-of-millions-yuan Series B financing to scale up mass production lines for glass-based Micro LED. Many enterprises deliver solid performance: CVTE forecasts a 264%–314% year-on-year surge in its first-half net profit, while Absen completed a landmark 2,076-square-meter outdoor giant screen project for cultural tourism in Wuxi.
Technological breakthroughs keep emerging. Jilin University made major progress in perovskite blue LED research. Glass-based transparent screens, AI-integrated display control systems and XR virtual shooting solutions are rapidly commercialized. A special alliance was founded at the Suzhou Mini/Micro LED Industry Conference to unify industrial standards. At InfoComm USA, leading Chinese manufacturers launched 0.4 mm ultra-fine pitch Micro LED products. Government & enterprise conference rooms, 8K studios, digital cultural tourism and virtual film shooting constitute core growth segments of the market.
